JAPAN Fes Community

1. JAPAN Fes FOOD Policy

To maintain a high-quality marketplace, every vendor must operate with the pride and accountability of a "specialty shop."

  • "One-Vendor, One-Specialty" Rule

    • Core Identity: Showcase one signature product that is "second to none."

    • Limited Menu Variations: You must focus on one core product. Menu variations are strictly limited to flavors or toppings for that specific item.

    • Drink Vendors: Vendors with a unique commitment to their beverages will be recognized as "Drink Vendors."

    • General Beverages: Standard bottled and canned drinks may be sold as additional items alongside your main menu. However, your primary craft must remain the focus.

  • The Essence of Japanese Food & "Fusion" Policy

    • Accountability: Vendors must be able to clearly explain the Japanese roots and character of their menu.

    • Strict Fusion Policy: We respect Wayo-Secchu (Japanese-Other cultures’ fusion) as a creative culinary category. However, we strictly prohibit its misuse as a "label" to mask a lack of technique or quality. Any "ambiguous" fusion used to bypass the standards of Japanese cuisine will not be accepted.

  • Final Authority & Food Control

    • JAPAN Fes Management holds absolute and final authority over all menu eligibility to ensure a balanced marketplace.

2. Building a Sustainable Community Together

JAPAN Fes is not just a one-time, flash-in-the-pan event. We strive to build a sustainable community where vendors, visitors, and organizers all play a leading role, creating a place where everyone feels at home and wants to return next week and next year.

  • The $5 Signature Menu Requirement

Festival-goers don't come for one large meal; they want to sample as many flavors as possible.

    • A Gateway to Connections: The $5/€5 taster is an entry point. It’s an opportunity to make the customer think, "This is a great deal! I want the regular size next time!"

  • Creating a Place Where People Want to Return

    • Don't "Kill" Your Future: Charging excessive prices might make a sale today, but you are "killing" your future relationship with that customer. Overcharging kills the potential of your business in that very moment.

    • Trust Through Pricing: Clear and honest pricing is the foundation of a welcoming community where people feel invited to return.

  • Unified Sales Reporting (Typeform)

To grow this community together, we need to understand our visitors' needs through data.

    • Method: All sales reporting will now be conducted exclusively via Typeform. Reporting sales for the $5/€5 menu is also a mandatory requirement.

    • Details Required: Please provide an itemized breakdown of what sold (POS data, photos of handwritten notes/memos, etc.).

    • Purpose: By tracking trends, we can work together to create a better experience that truly delights our community.
